Overview

Nick is a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to supporting clients to reduce psychological distress and live emotionally fulfilling lives. Nick works with adults, couples, and adolescents experiencing a range of issues, including: depression and anxiety disorders, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, life transitions, and exploration of gender & sexual diversity, and their intersections with diversity in culture and religion. Nick is passionate about working with other members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their relationships. Nick has published research exploring the relationships of the LGBTQIA+ community, and continues to passionately focus on this area in both clinical practice and research. More generally, Nick enjoys assisting all relationships and partners through relationship difficulties, disconnection, conflict, infidelity, and navigation of consensual non-monogamy. Helping clients struggling with symptoms of eating disorders is another area of special interest for Nick. Nick values building warm and authentic therapeutic relationships with his clients as the foundation of therapy, and uses a range of evidence-based therapies to help clients achieve their goals and alleviate distress including: Emotionally-Focused Therapy for individuals and couples Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Schema-Focused Therapy Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders Areas of special interest: Supporting members of our LGBTQIA+ community Couples & relationship therapy Supporting clients with eating disorders Nick is available for appointments at True North Psychology on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
