Overview

Neil is an empathetic, person-centred counsellor who provides a calm, respectful, and non-judgemental setting for his clients. He is committed to creating a safe space where individuals and couples feel heard, understood, and supported. He brings extensive experience from a variety of counselling and pastoral care settings. Neil recognises the complexity of modern life and the diverse challenges people face across different stages of life. He understands that each individual and couple is unique, and therefore tailors his approach to meet each client’s specific needs, circumstances, and goals. Neil draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Couples Therapy, Psychosexual Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). He works from a holistic framework, often referred to as the Biopsychosocial-Spiritual approach, which considers the interconnected physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of wellbeing. He seeks to develop a collaborative therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, respect, and openness. Neil’s aim is to support clients in gaining a unique and deeper self-understanding and to help them navigate their experiences with greater clarity and confidence. He is available for individual and couples therapy after hours Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
