Mr Matthew Csabonyi Psychologist

Agile Mental Health Clinical Wellbeing & Support Service 405 St Kilda St, Brighton, Victoria, 3186

Overview

I'm a registered clinical psychologist and board approved supervisor. I'm registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AUSPATH). I'm experienced in providing psychology services to teenagers, adults and older adults and genuinely enjoy working with each of these age groups. Currently, in addition to working at APC I work as a senior clinical psychologist at Monash Health Gender Clinic, and as a psychology supervisor at The University of Melbourne Psychology Clinic. My style of therapy is warm, engaging and very down to earth. I tend to be open with my patients about what i'm thinking and share a lot of my thoughts in session. I think therapy works best when we can develop a shared understanding of what's going on, and I will always try to do that with a lot of empathy and compassion for you and your situation. I love what I do and enjoy working with people with a lot of different issues, but have a particular interest in mood (e.g., depression), anxiety (e.g., general, social, health), trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorder, addiction and managing relationship breakdowns. I also have a special interest in working with gender dysphoria and providing WPATH letters for gender diverse patients to access gender-affirming treatments and I have an expertise working with the LGBT community more generally. I use various types of therapy and techniques in my work with people. My main modalities include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), schema therapy and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), however i'm not a purist - I enjoy taking an individualised approach with each person. I'm a registered medicare provider, so rebates are available for eligible patients and services.
