Matthew is an experienced counsellor and provisional psychologist who has worked in private practice and community settings. Trained in the Gottman Method, he specialises in helping couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthening connection.
Matthew tailors his therapeutic interventions to each client’s needs and preferences, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to support clients experiencing complex trauma, PTSD, and anxiety.
He centres his work on empowering individuals to cultivate greater self-awareness, supporting them in building the foundations for a fulfilling and flourishing life. Matthew is also engaged in higher education as a sessional academic and Honours-level psychology tutor at the Cairnmillar Institute. He is deeply committed to advancing mental health awareness and promoting psychological wellbeing in the broader community.
