I am a friendly and approachable person who enjoys listening and talking to others. People are unique in the way they think and act, and our ongoing experiences and memories are important and shape our world. I have a holistic approach in counselling and do not use set formulas in dealing with upset feelings or emotions, as there are many factors involved that could cause distress. Let’s talk and determine how I can assist you in living your best life. Louis completed a Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Organisational Psychology and Industry Economics. This was followed by a Post Graduate Higher Education Diploma and a Honor's Degree in Organisational Psychology. He was awarded a master’s degree in Organisational Psychology in 2002. He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Louis is trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Louis has experience working with a diverse range of clients, with a focus on adults and younger persons form age 16+. His experience includes working for a Disability Support Employment Provider in assisting people to obtain work compatible with their disability, and to maintain employment whilst managing their disability symptoms. He has worked in a range of other settings, including police psychology services, Australian semi-government organisation, rehabilitation services provider, and private practice. Louis has a keen interest in working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, dealing with anger, stress management, drug and alcohol issues, and managing health and lifestyle.
