Juan obtained his psychology degree in Colombia and has been practising as a counsellor in Australia since 2013. Currently studying Community Development which allows him to strengthen his ability to critically reflect on and analyse social policy and organisational practices.
Juan has a strong commitment to working with disadvantaged youth and adults from diverse and sociocultural contexts. He has high valued professional expertise on international community development practice, including developing ideas and projects for sustainable living, child and family welfare and mental health and wellbeing programs.
Juan has over 5 years experience as a psychotherapist and counsellor. He has worked with youth and adults around issues of mediation or conciliation, depression, violence, anxiety, stress, trauma, and relationships difficulties. Juan has a special interest in working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, he is a native Spanish speaker who welcomes the Spanish speaking community to access psychotherapy and psychoeducation services in their mother language.
As a professional, Juan has solid ethical foundations, offer knowledge and skills to develop practices for individual and collective wellbeing from a holistic perspective.
