Overview

Jnanam Jason Gan is a Yoga devotee. The name Jnanam (pronounced Gee-aanam by Indologist Georg Feuerstein) derives from Yoga. He believes that the agency of the individual is integral to his or her therapy; that every individual has a story to be expressed, and it is a central theme in the Yoga Therapy tradition (developed by A.G. Mohan). Underpinning the agency to change is a contemporary concept in neuroscience called neuroplasticity, which is the ability of the mind to adapt to changes, continuously, by forming connections (or mapping the story for the individual). In terms of musculoskeletal (or myofascial) conditions, neuroplasticity is associated with the concept of “use it or lose it”. Jnanam believes that, in any stage of your life, you still have the agency to “use it or lose it”, which is the reason that Jnanam chooses to return to movement therapy practice and to focus on movement system impairment, as sports science intersects with neuromuscular therapy in the rehabilitation stages. Jnanam is qualified in the Diploma of Remedial Massage and the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy, and incorporates his experiences using a wide variety of reading sources, to develop a treatment and rehabilitation strategy that will best address your goals.
