Jeremy began tutoring in 2003 at age 17, but has been explaining science to his friends since at least age 7. He is the gifted children's co-ordinator for MENSA in Victoria, and has been actively involved since 2010. Jeremy has worked as a research chemist and published his honours research in the highly regarded Tetrahedron Letters journal. Jeremy spends most of his spare moments continuing to add to his vast understanding of the world to fulfil his interests and make his sessions fun and enlightening. Jeremy's understanding of each subject area is comprehensive, enabling him to take students beyond teaching or content limitations. There is rarely a question Jeremy cannot answer, and if he can't, he will be able to the next time you see him. Jeremy is a fantastic mentor as he prides himself on being adaptive to his student's needs for curiosity, and study and career guidance. He is a warm, non-judgemental person with a great sense of humour, so can put most anxious students at ease. In this environment, asking questions and developing deeper learning habits can become second nature to a student, which ultimately leads to better outcomes.
Jeremy can assist with Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology up to and including first year university level. For VCE he can assist with General Maths, Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Jeremy specialises in drawing upon his knowledge, intuition and reflection that span across subjects and year levels to assist his students to access more fundamental truths.
Jeremy is available for appointments Sunday to Thursday in the afternoon and evening. He is available for In Home tuition on Thursdays and Sundays.
