Hi, I’m Ian Waugh, a counsellor and Gestalt Psychotherapist based on the Tweed Coast Over the past 20 years, I’ve been privileged to meet and study with many gifted and insightful counselling teachers and therapists. They openly shared their experiences and cemented my love for my work, helping others achieve their best life too. As an accomplished Gestalt therapist and counsellor, there’s nothing better than helping my clients to understand their relational dynamics, from personal or relationship issues, through to battling addictions. My end goal for each client is to empower them to do whatever it takes to move beyond their current life situation and into a well-lived life. A life you deserve to live. Over the years, I’ve held clinical positions in a large therapeutic community, implemented therapeutic programs in indigenous treatment settings and consulted on program development and clinical protocols for treating addiction. I have presented workshops, seminars and provided training to organisations on subjects such as working with clients presenting with addiction and co-morbidity, trauma-informed practice and case management. Academically, I’ve been awarded a Masters of Gestalt Therapy and Diploma of Human Services (Alcohol and Other Drugs). I have taught Gestalt Therapy within a postgraduate program and presented on the subject of working with clients presenting with addiction issues.
