Grant McKechnie is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, educator, and pain science practitioner with more than 25 years of experience working across musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, and persistent pain rehabilitation. Since beginning clinical practice in 2000, Grant has combined hands-on rehabilitation with teaching, research, and professional development, completing a Master of Applied Science (Research) and lecturing in rehabilitation anatomy and related health sciences. His work has evolved toward helping people with complex and recalcitrant conditions, particularly those who have not responded to traditional treatment approaches. Areas of special interest include persistent pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), hypermobility, neurological rehabilitation, neuroplasticity, and the emerging role of neuroimmune health in recovery.
Grant is passionate about translating contemporary science into practical strategies that empower people to better understand their condition and actively participate in their recovery. He served as Learning and Development Project Officer with Pain Revolution until the end of 2025, helping develop and deliver pain education programs for health professionals and communities throughout Australia. He has presented nationally and internationally on pain science, rehabilitation, CRPS, neuroplasticity, and exercise-based healthcare, and currently serves on the Board of the Purple Bucket Foundation and the Exercise Physiology Advisory Board for IPTC. His philosophy is simple: when people understand what is happening in their bodies, they are better equipped to build confidence, restore function, and create meaningful change.
