Mr Calum Johal Social Worker

Calum is experienced in working with a wide range of presentations including: Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship difficulties, Grief and Loss and trained in a variety of modes of working including Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. Calum believes that no individual is the same and each requires a tailored approach, so generally, a blend of approaches and therapies are utilised for each individual. Calum does not believe in looking at people as ‘problems to be solved’, but as humans who are stuck in patterns that are not serving them. His approach in therapy is to help people to identify these patterns and to consider how we could begin to do something differently. Calum is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and can provide Medicare rebates to clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan through their GP.
