Overview

"I take a person-centered and strength-based approach to therapy, aiming to work together with you to identify problematic issues and build on your personal strengths to make lasting change. I understand that your problems are unique and thus I try to ensure that my approach is specific to your needs. I value authenticity, compassion and a direct approach to help you empower yourself for change. My passion lies in helping and guiding my clients to heal from past emotional trauma. Throughout my years as a psychologist, I have come to realize that most mental health issues stem from past unresolved trauma and intra-psychic conflicts that the client might not be aware of. These sets of traumas often remain hidden as they have been repressed in the subconscious mind and body, yet they indirectly cause one to feel “stuck” in the present moment. I believe that all human beings have an innate power of strength within them, however this cannot always be realized due to ""old programs” that are concealing this potential. Overall, I strive to help clients build a higher level of self-awareness so they are able to finally free themselves and move forward in life. Although this level of change requires an immense amount of courage and trust, the rewards are often immeasurable and indescribable. "Ari completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology. Finally, Ari also completed a Masters of Psychology (Counselling). Ari is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a psychologist. Ari is trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Ari also doesn't just rely on “talk therapy” but also works with the subconscious and body, utilizing a variety of techniques including; guided meditation, visualizations, somatic experiencing, brainspotting, and emotion-focused release to let go of trapped negative energy that has kept the client “blocked” in an unwanted state of consciousness as a result of past trauma. "Ari has experience working with a diverse range of clients, including adults, adolescents, families and couples. Ari has worked in a wide range of fields, including correctional facilities, universities, psychiatric hospitals, drug and alcohol, crisis and inpatient settings, employment, and private practice. Ari has extensive experience working with people who have issues relating to depression, low self-esteem, trauma, stress, anxiety, grief and loss, identity issues, anger, relationship and family breakdown, eating disorders, sexuality issues and childhood abuse. Ari has a particular interest in working with the subconscious mind to help clients transcend hidden blockages and ""old programs"". He has a keen and passionate interest in helping clients who have experience either a single-traumatic event or chronic trauma in the past, including bullying, death of a loved one, abuse and/or neglect.
