Trigger points within muscles are an example of muscle dysfunction that can cause deep aching pain, local tenderness, referred pain limiting strength and flexibility. Utilising palpation skills Myotherapists can identify trigger points and deactivate them using various soft tissue manipulation techniques. Muscular dysfunction can be caused by trauma, overload or misuse of muscles arising from occupational, sporting or recreational activities. Murray's love and passion for Myotherapy stems from his abilities to help and understand his clients personal needs. Through gaining a medical history and appropriate assessment a tailored treatment plan is prescribed. His professional hands on deep tissue focuses on pain management, injury prevention and postural correction. Billy is a highly skilled Remedial Massage Therapist, with 5 years of clinical experience. His knowledge of human anatomy, muscle palpation skills, and intuitive approach give him a unique edge. Billy is a Remedial Massage Therapist at the Hawthorn Football Club. He completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences at La Trobe University, Bundoora in 2018 where he achieved a high distinction majoring in Human Anatomy and Physiology. Billy completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2014 at Melbourne Polytechnic, Preston where he won the Outstanding Student of the year award for leadership and demonstrating outstanding levels of skill within his felid. Billy is currently completing a Masters of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University, Bundoora. Billy’s approach to treatment is consultative and hands-on. He incorporates a range of techniques in his sessions including: -Deep Tissue Massage -Trigger Point Therapy -Myofascial Release -Dry Needling for the purposes of healing, rehabilitation, relaxation, and injury treatment.
