Bhavna completed her Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne. She was drawn to paediatric speech pathology for its unique blend of structure and play, creativity and clinical reasoning, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children’s daily lives.
Bhavna is passionate about providing neuroaffirming, child-centred support that empowers children and their families. She strives to create sessions that feel engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s communication strengths and needs.
Across her university placements, Bhavna gained experience in a wide range of settings including acute care, post-stroke aphasia rehabilitation, and paediatric stuttering. During her placement at Melbourne Speech Pathology Clinic and through her work as an Allied Health Assistant at The Happy Space, she developed a particular interest in fluency and literacy, and enjoys supporting children to build confidence in these areas.
Bhavna was recently awarded the Speech Pathology Australia Conference Attendance Award by the University of Melbourne, giving her the opportunity to attend the SPA Conference in Adelaide. She has additionally received the 2025 Excellence in Clinical Practice Student Award (Entry-Level) at the University of Melbourne Speech Pathology Awards. She is excited to continue developing her knowledge in fluency, literacy, AAC, informational counselling, and paediatric feeding as she grows in her career.
Bhavna values warmth, genuineness, and collaboration, and is committed to creating positive relationships with children and their families. She enjoys celebrating meaningful successes - big and small - and supporting children to reach their communication goals.
