Qualifications
Dr Nabil Chherawala graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, with Clinical Distinction, from the University of Tasmania in 2014. He then completed subspecialisation with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), achieving a Certificate of Advanced Training in Adult Psychiatry in South Australia. Dr Chherawala has undertaken further qualifications in Medical Administration and Clinical Leadership.
Working Experience
Dr Chherawala is currently the Clinical Lead of the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison service at the Coffs Harbour Hospital in the Mid-North Coast of NSW, where he provides psychiatric treatment to people experiencing co-morbid physical health issues. He has previously worked in regional and metropolitan areas across South Australia.
Dr Chherawala has a keen interest in applying technology to improve the accessibility of psychiatric services, and has published scientific literature reflecting this. He is also an advocate of integrating digital systems and technology as part of holistic treatment planning. He is presently offering exclusively Tele-Health consults.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Chherawala has an active teaching position at the University of New South Wales as a Conjoint Lecturer, and with the RANZCP as the local Site Coordinator of Training of Doctors-In-Training with the RANZCP. From 2020 to 2022, he was a member of the RANZCP Bi-National ADHD Committee.
