Michelle is a warm and approachable Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and young adults up to 25 years of age. With an extensive background in psychology, counselling, education and student wellbeing, she brings a strong understanding of the emotional, social, behavioural and learning challenges that can arise throughout childhood, adolescence and early adulthood.
Michelle has a particular interest in supporting young people experiencing anxiety, depression and low mood, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence, ADHD, Autism, learning difficulties and other aspects of neurodiversity. She also supports young adults navigating life transitions, relationships, study, work and the challenges that can come with increasing independence.
Michelle may be a good fit for you if...
You're looking for a psychologist who is warm, patient and genuinely takes the time to understand you or your child.
You may be seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, big emotions or confidence; navigating ADHD, Autism or learning differences; dealing with behavioural or school-related difficulties; adjusting to changes in study, work or young adulthood; or looking for guidance and support as a parent.
You may also simply know that things haven't been feeling quite right and want a supportive space to understand what's happening and work out what might help.
Michelle's Approach
Michelle understands that reaching out for support can sometimes feel difficult. She places a strong emphasis on creating a space where clients feel safe, listened to, understood and accepted. Her approach is warm, collaborative and strengths-based, with therapy tailored to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice, with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forming a core foundation. She also draws on behavioural strategies, emotional regulation skills, psychoeducation, strengths-based approaches and parent support.
Before becoming a psychologist, Michelle spent many years working in education and student wellbeing across schools, colleges, community organisations and private practice. When appropriate, she works collaboratively with parents, schools, allied health professionals and other supports to help young people achieve positive and meaningful change.
