Dr Thomas is a clinical psychologist and mucosal immunologist with specialisation in the gut brain axis. Dr Thomas has over 30 years clinical experience. She is a Fellow of both the Clinical College and Forensic Psychology College of the Australian Psychological Society. Dr Thomas is a Board Approved Supervisor of Provisional Psychologists. Dr Thomas is a visiting fellow of the Australian National University. and research supervisor of medical students. Additionally Dr Thomas provides expert opinion services in medico legal matters. She is a trained assessor in Permanent Impairment for Motor Accidents Authority, Workcover and Comcare. Dr Thomas is a medico-legal assessor, consulting on fitness for duty, assessments, personal Injury and damages claims.
