Overview
Emily is a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), holds PsyBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology and is a full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Emily has experience working in both the public and private sector with adults from a diverse range of backgrounds and has experience working with Australian Defence Force members.
Emily embodies a positive psychology approach and is passionate about helping clients reach their goals and create change in their lives. Emily provides a safe, emotionally validating space for clients whilst supporting them to create behavioural change through learning evidence-based skills and strategies. Emily takes a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to therapy where treatment is tailored to the needs of each client. Her working style is genuine, authentic, warm and collaborative. She is able to support clients presenting with a range of concerns, including stress management, goal setting, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, depression, anxiety and trauma-related concerns.
Emily employs range of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Emily is passionate about guiding and supporting clients in therapy to uncover what may be driving their thoughts and behaviours, learn strategies to approach situations differently and facilitate personal growth.
Emily has two publications, specifically, she has authored a peer reviewed article published in the Journal of Theoretical Issues in Ergonomics Science in 2016, and a peer reviewed article exploring resilience and emotional awareness in the first responders in Frontiers in Psychology in 2022.
