Mary-Anne is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 18 years experience working with both adults and adolescents. Mary-Anne has worked in both clinical settings and private practice, and she has lectured on the faculty of the Melbourne College of Contemporary Psychotherapy, (M.C.C.P.). She is also a clinical member of the Melbourne College of Contemporary Psychotherapy (M.C.C.P.), Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (P.A.C.F.A.), Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (A.R.C.A.P.) and the International Association of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology (I.A.P.S.P.). Mary-Anne works to help restructure those aspects of a person’s self that have been damaged, arrested or traumatised, so that they can experience feelings of joy and optimism. Therapy with Mary-Anne is a conversation, one that fosters development of the self and can transform damaged and traumatised parts of the self. This is an empathic way of working, which draws on the theories of early childhood development and Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory and Self Psychology. Mary-Anne’s approach is eclectic, drawing from many theoretical perspectives and dependent on the needs of the client.
