Hello, my name is Melissa Taitimu but you can call me Mel. I am a registered clinical psychologist and have been practicing since graduating from my PhD in 2006. I work in a holistic manner to support clients achieve their personal and therapeutic goals. I believe each individual has the agency to work through challenges towards an life filled with meaning and purpose, joy and authenticity. I have worked in community family, child and adolescent mental health, inpatient and private settings.
I prefers to tailor therapy to each client’s circumstances, weaving threads of various therapeutic modalities depending on the individual. I have undergone specialist training in a range of evidence based therapeutic tools such as ACT, DBT, Art therapy, CBT and Family Therapy.
I experience working with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, child and adolescent mental health, PTSD, trauma and life stage transitions.
I have a particular professional and personal interest in women's health, supporting women to live authentic and meaningful lives.
