Madeleine (Maddy) Swan
MSPA, MMus, CPSP
Maddy is an experienced Speech Pathologist and Singing Voice Therapist with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from The University of Sydney and a Master of Music Studies (Voice) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. A lifelong singer with a deep fascination for the human voice, Maddy is passionate about helping people overcome voice difficulties and reconnect with their authentic sound.
She has performed in jazz and musical theatre since childhood and has worked in private practice since becoming a speech pathologist in 2016. Maddy has broad experience supporting people across the lifespan with voice disorders, upper airway disorders, and breathing pattern disorders. She has been mentored by some of Australia's leading voice specialists and now brings an integrated, evidence-based approach to therapy, tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
Maddy has a special interest in working with professional voice users—singers, actors, presenters, teachers—and supporting people to return to their work and passions following vocal injury. She has most recently worked as part of the multidisciplinary team at The Voice Connection in Sydney, running voice clinics alongside Dr Jonathan Livesey. Maddy also has experience in aged care, supporting individuals and their families with swallowing and communication challenges.
Warm, caring, and person-centred in her approach, Maddy is passionate about seeing the whole person behind the voice and tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique goals and circumstances.
Maddy is returning from parental leave and will recommence seeing patients in St Leonards and online from August 2025. She will soon also offer appointments in Sydney’s Inner West.
