Working as a paediatric oncology clinical nurse specialist since 2006. Specialised in oncology/haematology nursing care; especially in the field of bone marrow transplantation care and management. Focused on patient - family centred care and enforcing culture diversity in the healthcare environment.

Rachel was the Maddie’s Vision inaugural Fiona Riewoldt Fellow and has already been part of the Maddie’s Vision family for a number of years. She is a Paediatric Nurse Educator with 30 years’ experience in caring for people with malignant and non-malignant haematology conditions. Rachel completed her post graduate Haematology nursing degree at Thames Valley University, London and is currently completing a PhD through Queensland University of Technology. Rachel is an early career nurse researcher with implementation research interests including the use of patient reported outcome measures, symptom assessment and management, vascular access, and staff education and wellbeing. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, travelling, bushwalking, kayaking, and experiencing all things music, and musical theatre.
