Leslie Spitz

Psychologist

I work with adults (16+) in person and via telehealth, supporting people through challenges such as anxiety, depression, panic, trauma, grief, health-related adjustment, and relationship concerns. I am a registered psychologist with advanced postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology. I work collaboratively with GPs and other health professionals to support emotional well-being and positive change. Drawing on evidence-based therapies and extensive clinical experience, I help people navigate challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with what matters most in life. I am a registered psychologist with extensive clinical experience and advanced postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology. I have worked in both private practice and medical settings, collaborating closely with GPs and medical specialists to provide integrated care. Currently, I work at Logic Lounge Psychology in Hornsby and North Sydney, where I offer evidence-based psychological treatment for individuals and couples. My training includes a Master of Clinical Psychology, with advanced coursework completed and final placement due for completion in March 2026. This postgraduate study builds on many years of clinical practice and enables me to draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), the Unified Protocol (UP), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Complicated Grief Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions. I am SIRA-approved to support clients affected by workplace injury and am a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI). I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all clients, and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, health-related concerns (including adjustment to cancer), and relationship and couples issues. A Space To Reconnect I aim to create a space where clients can slow down, notice, and reconnect with their own emotions, with the people who matter to them, and with the deeper rhythms of life. My work is grounded in the belief that true healing happens when we can access what is authentic and life-giving. Too often, we live in ways that are shaped by ego, fear, and disconnection, both from ourselves and from the natural world. This disconnection not only affects us psychologically and emotionally but also limits our sense of meaning and belonging. I see therapy as a journey toward authenticity, compassion, and connection. My role is to walk alongside clients as they learn to release what no longer serves them, embrace their capacity for growth, and discover a more stable and fulfilling way of life.

His tertiary qualifications are supported by a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Psychology and following the end of Apartheid in South Africa, he proudly completed his Doctorate researching the Upward Career Mobility of Black Business Managers. He unapologetically focuses on unleashing all his knowledge and experience gained over the past 35 years in Psychological Wellbeing, Crisis Intervention, Risk Assessment and Relationship Counselling to gain a growth advantage for his clients. Feeling both privileged and humbled at the same time, Woj supported survivors of the Lismore floods and survivors providing testimony in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. As an unshakable optimist, when asked what key trait underpins Woj’s success, he says he is willing to be in the corner of those who feel that no one cares about them. He uses basic clinical skills to provide compassionate psychological counselling to those needing to overcome personal hurdles, both in and outside of their workplaces. He will encourage you to recognise unhelpful behaviours limiting your ability to keep you connected to healthy wellbeing patterns. He will also urge you to see how this disconnect leads to further vulnerability in other parts of your life. Rather than leave this vulnerability unaddressed, Woj encourages us to start the process to end the mental suffering and make things better. The first step starts with a conversation.
