Christine (Chrissy) Skinner has joined the Lifestyle Metabolic team, bringing over 10 years of experience in private practice as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Chrissy is passionate about empowering individuals with self-management strategies that foster long-term behavior change to optimize health outcomes. Chrissy’s areas of expertise include educating adults about Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes, newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes, Exercise for Bariatric Surgery, and various weight management approaches. She is also skilled in initiating clients on insulin and injectable therapies for diabetes and weight management, as well as Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems. Chrissy completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education & Management from the University of Technology Sydney and holds Bachelor’s degrees in Health Science (Nutrition) and Applied Science (Human Movement Studies). Chrissy takes a collaborative and structured approach to patient care, working with other healthcare professionals to tailor individualized treatment plans. Her goal is to help clients lead healthier, more fulfilling lives by optimizing metabolic health through education, exercise, and lifestyle interventions. Dedicated to supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, Annie provides evidence-based, holistic care focused on helping women feel strong, confident and informed in midlife. She values working within a multidisciplinary team alongside an endocrinologist, dietitian, exercise physiologist and physiotherapist to support every aspect of health. Annie graduated in 2005 and has worked as a GP in Brisbane since 2013, with a strong focus on women’s midlife health, including contraception, antenatal care, mental health and menopause management. Her experience also includes roles in private fertility medicine and public urology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She is a member of the Australian and International Menopause Societies and is known for her down-to-earth, compassionate approach, using humour to make care feel human and empowering.

Donna McCook is dual-qualified in Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology, with over 25 years’ clinical experience supporting people through menopause, healthy aging, injury rehabilitation and weight management. She helps people improve mobility, strength, fitness, body composition, and long-term health across the lifespan especially when hormonal change and midlife transitions make progress feel more complex. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based exercise, strength training, and practical lifestyle strategies, with an emphasis on maintaining muscle, supporting bone health, and rebuilding sustainable habits that fit real life. Alongside clinical work, Donna is completing a PhD focused on how to reduce muscle and bone loss during weight loss, including in people using GLP-1 medications. This research lens supports a practical, prevention-minded approach to protecting muscle mass, bone density, and functional capacity while improving weight-related health outcomes. Donna takes a holistic, patient-centred approach and values a multidisciplinary team—working with the patient and, where appropriate, other clinicians—to align goals, reduce risk, and support lasting health improvements.
