Libby O’Connor (nee Vickers) is the Principal Physiotherapist at Reclaim! Neurological Physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993, and while working for Queensland Health in the early years following graduation, she gained a thorough grounding in all areas of Physiotherapy Practice. In 1997 while at the Royal Brisbane Hospital she began to specialize in, and develop a passion for, Neurological Rehabilitation. From 1999-2003 she gained valuable experience working in the United Kingdom at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, The National Hospital for Neurodisability and “Heads Up”, a Private Neurological Physiotherapy practice. On her return to Australia in 2003, and while working at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Rehabilitation Unit- Balmain Campus) in Sydney she was awarded titled membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (Neurology). More recently Libby has worked as the Senior Physiotherapist in acute and rehabilitation services at the Bundaberg Hospital and has also worked at the Toowoomba Hospital. In 2013 Libby established Reclaim! Neurological Physiotherapy, based in Toowoomba where she was born and raised. Being a second-generation health professional in the Toowoomba region, Libby has a vast amount of local knowledge and she has established many professional relationships and works collaboratively with specialized treatment providers within the community. Libby is committed to delivering evidence based interventions, continuously attending courses and conferences and has presented at several state-wide physiotherapy courses. She is a qualified Bobath Therapist. As the result of an identified need in the Darling Downs region, Libby commenced training in vestibular rehabilitation, completing a competency based course and several advanced courses in recent years. Libby utilizes established outcome measures to determine the effectiveness of her interventions.
