In my very first role working with people, at the Wayside Chapel in 2009, the following advice was offered: “If you have come with your heart on your sleeve and cape tucked into your back pocket, then this isn’t the place for you - you can’t help anyone and you can’t save them. That’s not your role.” Your role is to meet people, and if you can truely meet people, they will be helped as a result of that meeting.” These words form the foundation of a professional private practice, that meets you with dignity, acceptance and respect. Throughout a social work education and career in government, NGOs and education, I worked with clients, and the systems and environments they are part of. Clients were supported to make choices, develop connections, and uphold rights. As part of my Masters program, the Arc Practice Model was developed. Arc has been used in client work to assist peoples’ therapeutic journey back to themselves, and is continually evolving. In 2025, Arc Counselling was created as a private practice to offer you over 15 years of experience and a refined therapeutic approach. As the therapeutic relationship develops, we work together to resolve traumatic life events, and gain a deeper insight and acceptance of yourself. Together, we can navigate major life changes, existential crisis and shifts in identity. Finally, a shift in my own practice has been from “doing therapy” to “being a therapist”. I will keep you company in your experience and on your journey, without intruding on it. HOW I WORK Outlook: Dignity of risk affirms peoples’ right to make their own choices and learn from their own mistakes. Depriving people of this right takes away their dignity. At Arc Counselling, your dignity is upheld. You will never be told what to do and I am here to be on your side - that’s my committment to you. Emphasis: Emphasis is placed on the therapeutic relationship and its power to heal and transform. Drawing from IFS (Internal Family Systems), Somatic and Schema therapies, a personalised response that guides your individual therapeutic journey is created and adapted to your needs. Approach: My approach is less about “doing to” and more about “being with” – meeting you where you are, supporting and guiding you back to yourself. Transformation happens less from driving an agenda to change, but through an acceptance and exploration of you as you are. FEES & AVAILABILITY I charge a flat fee of $200 per 50 min session for individuals and $240 for couples. I also provide therapeutic services for NDIS clients and Victims Services NSW. No referrals are needed. My services can be accessed directly. Packages for 10 sessions or more are also available. Concessional rates may be offered in some circumstances and depending on availability. I am available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for in person and online appointments. I currently don’t have a waiting list and am accepting new clients in Darlington.
