Coming from a family of Chinese medicine doctors, Jack has always had a passion for helping others in times of need. His strong sense of care and responsibility for others is influenced by the passing of his grandfather from prostate cancer. After witnessing his poor quality of life, Jack resolved himself to study the medical arts so that he would not be helpless to those around him. Jack practices Japanese style acupuncture which is based on the ‘Nan Jing’ (Classic of Difficulties), a text written more than 1500 years ago detailing intricate treatment and diagnostic methods. Jack also extensively uses Japanese style moxibustion in his treatment protocols, a form of heat stimulation where a herb (Artemisia vulgaris) is burnt on or near the skin to activate the innate healing mechanism of the body. This technique is traditionally used for the elderly or for individuals with a weak physique due to the ability to warm and strengthen the body. As a nightshift worker himself, Jack understands the importance of good quality sleep. As a result, Jack focuses on sleep disorders as well as immune disorders and elderly care. His clients often remark that he has ‘gentle hands’ and takes ‘extra care’ to look after their health and wellbeing.
