Overview

Kathleen Yardley is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She holds a Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental). Kathleen has experience working with school-aged children and their families, supporting young people with a wide range of presentations. She is registered with Medicare to provide services under Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. Kathleen works primarily with children and adolescents of school age. Kathleen is passionate about providing person-centred therapy and ensures that each client she works with feels heard and understood. Kathleen is warm, engaging and compassionate in her relationships with clients. Her approaches draw from evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), play-based therapy and mindfulness techniques. Kathleen has also completed training in functional behaviour analysis. Kathleen works with a range of presentations including anxiety, socioemotional problems, behavioural difficulties, low self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, trauma/attachment issues and perfectionism. She works collaboratively with children and parents/carers, as well as teachers and schools where necessary. In addition to providing individual therapy, Kathleen is also experienced in and able to provide psychological assessment including cognitive, educational, socioemotional and behavioural (e.g., ADHD, ODD) assessments.
