Website Psychologist who completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University in Canberra in 2004. Kate first registered as a psychologist in 2000 while working as a counsellor with adolescents and adults with drug and alcohol abuse and dependency issues. During her career, Kate has worked in a community counselling team, as adolescent counsellor with the charity Ted Noffs Foundation, in organisation psychology with Centrelink and generalist and workplace-related counseling with an Employee Assistance Provider (EAP). Kate has been in private practice in the inner west Sydney area since 2006. In her psychology practice, Kate uses a range of therapeutic approaches – including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy – on the basis that no one therapy fits all people and all problems. Her approach to therapy is to gain a clear understanding of a client’s concerns and in response provide a tailored therapy to fit each client. Kate's therapeutic approach is particularly informed by the Psychodynamic therapies of Self Psychology (http://selfpsychology.com.au) and The Conversational Model (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/conversational_model). Kate has completed a training in The Developmental Model of Couple Therapy. She is currently completing training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through ANZAP. Kate provides short and long term treatment to adults, adolescents and couples. She is able to treat a variety of clinical problems. Kate's areas of special interest include Depression and Anxiety, Perinatal Mental Health in men and women, Eating Disorders, Complex Trauma, Relationship Issues and alcohol and drug problems.
