Overview

I am a Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and their families. I have dual qualificiations in Psychology and Teaching. I attained a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Newcastle and then went on to complete a Masters in Teaching, with specialisation in School Counselling, from the University of Sydney. I have previously been employed as a School Counsellor within NSW Public Schools from 2014-2023 and within private practice in NSW as a Psychologist from 2019-2021. I have recently moved to Kangaroo Island and will be offering private consultations out of Healthy Outlook (Physiotherapy Solutions in Kingscote) I pride myself on being a warm, compassionate and authentic child and adolescent Psychologist. I predominantly work within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework and use evidence-based interventions to assist my clients and their families. I enjoy using a creative approach, implementing strategies from both art and narrative therapy. I believe that establishing and maintaining positive relationships with both the client and their family unit is paramount. My strengths include my ability to relate to young clients with my non-judgmental, empathic approach, with a touch of humour thrown in. I have found this approach provides the foundation for strong and trusting therapeutic alliance to be built with young clients. I am experienced in conducting a variety of psychometric assessments measuring cognitive ability, academic skills, adaptive functioning, attention and behavioural difficulties across the lifespan. I have a particular interest in specific learning disorders, after working in school settings over the years and observing the impacts of learning difficulties on children and adolescents self image and engagement at school.
