Overview
Joseph is a registered psychologist who provides professional supervision, consultancy and training in Sydney and online. He has worked extensively with young people between the ages of 3-18 and their parents in both mainstream and special education settings since 2002. Currently, Joseph directs the counselling services at a large mainstream school in the inner-city of Sydney.
Between 2009 and 2017, he also managed his own busy private practice in Carlingford. Joseph has taught introductory psychology subjects (Introduction to Psychology and Developmental Psychology) to both undergraduate and graduate students at the Australian College of Applied Psychology in Sydney. He is regularly invited to present training to school and other welfare/wellbeing staff.
Joseph is a Master Instructor of the 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid program and the Blended Youth Mental Health First Aid Program. He has delivered this program to school teachers, parents, community workers, hair dressers and many other community groups.
Joseph is also a regular presenter of parenting programs and talks, including 123 Magic and Emotion Coaching.
Having 5 children has given Joseph a keen insight into the challenges facing parents today. He is passionate about supporting parents, particularly those experiencing mental illness, and regularly writes articles for parents as well as running parent groups and seminars.
In 2008, Joseph and Chris Langridge from the John Berne School wrote Parenting in Practice, a self-help book for parents.
