Jocelyn is a Sydney-based registered psychologist with a special interest in the 'psychology of technology' and staying human in a digital age (overcoming issues relating to technology use, from digital distraction, 'addictions' and difficulty with video games and social media, online dating etc). Jocelyn works with adolescents (from 14 and up), young/emerging adults (18-25 years) , adults (25 and up) and parents. She doesn't work with children in primary school, do family therapy or any IQ/ psychometric assessments. Issues Jocelyn can provide support and strategies for: - General mood disorders and anxiety presentations. - School 'refusal', better known as School Avoidance. - Video Gaming addiction and problematic use of tech & social media - Parent coaching and capacity building for dealing with adolescent behaviours (including school avoidance and gaming/tech use issues) - ADHD assessment and coaching, including for adults - Burnout, purpose and stress management Jocelyn has 16 years’ experience in public education both as a teacher of high school social sciences and as a School Counsellor/ psychologist. She understands the school system and curriculum and can help inform support and access to resources and opportunities. Jocelyn also enjoys working with adults and parents to help them overcome challenges that busy modern lives can create, especially in a 'work/life balance' obsessed world! She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Gottman Couples therapy (Level 1). She uses a range of creative, practical and dynamic techniques to inspire positive change with clients across all ages and life stages. Fees for psychological services start from $220/50 minutes for individuals and $290/50 mins for parent coaching. There is usually about a 3-4 week wait for appointments.
