Overview

Joanne (‘Jo’) McCarthy specialises in individual relationship and trauma-informed Clinical Counselling services for clients who are experiencing relationship difficulties or who have experienced domestic family violence (DFV) and or sexual violence. She’s worked intensively with women, children and families for over 20 years, and began to specialise in DFV counselling and advocacy in 2015. Her Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy degree provides a strong academic foundation for her skills. She’s also completed numerous certificates, diplomas and other training to ensure she can provide a tailored mix of modalities for her clients. But beyond all her knowledge and skills, it’s her ability to ‘meet her clients where they are now’ and provide a non-judgemental sense of safety and compassion that truly sets her apart.
