Jess believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy and places particular importance on building trust and genuine rapport. Their approach is down-to-earth, collaborative and individualised, with a focus on creating a space where adolescents and young adults feel safe, respected and able to be themselves. Jess has extensive experience supporting young people experiencing emotional regulation difficulties, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, and challenges associated with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a particular area of their clinical experience, and Jess is part of Willow Tree Psychology and Wellbeing's established DBT team, providing individual therapy and contributing to DBT group programs. Throughout their career in child and adolescent mental health, Jess has also developed substantial experience supporting LGBTQIA+SB young people and their families, including through work within a Gender Clinic. They have experience supporting trans, non-binary and gender-diverse young people, including those exploring their gender identity, and are committed to providing respectful and gender-affirming care. Jess also provides a neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic environment, recognising each person's individual strengths, experiences, needs and ways of interacting with the world.
