Heather Litchfield Social Worker

Therapeutic Kindness Doreen, Victoria, 3754

Overview

Hi there, I’m Heather, a Registered Mental Health Social Worker under the Australian Association of Social Work, with fourteen years in practice alongside young people, adults, and families, within child protection, public mental health and private practice. I provide a space for a genuine authentic connection based on compassion, where you are the expert on your experience and your feelings are valid. I walk alongside my clients through their journey of self discovery assisting them to make meaningful change. I specialise in collaborating with women experiencing a range of challenges within their lives. Women tend to hold everyone above themselves, and they become a lower priority, this leads women to feel dismissed, unvalidated and burnt out. I validate women’s experience of modern life, mental health, and wellbeing by allowing them to have a safe space to explore their experience with the use of a range of frameworks such as narrative therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness and specialist supportive clinical management. Experience supporting women with: - Carrying the mental load - Negative inner critic - Emotional Abuse - Life transitions - Control - Perfectionism - Holding others - Anxiety - Stress - Eating disorders - Depression - People pleasing - Low self-esteem - Boundaries - Body image concerns - Emotional eating - Work life balance - Relationship breakdowns - Clinical supervision Rebates: As a registered Mental Health Social Worker you can access rebates under Medicare and private health insurance (depending on your level of cover). With Medicare, you will need a current Mental Health Care Plan which will provide you with a rebate of $82.30 for 10 sessions. If using private health I would encourage you to discuss with your provider before engaging with me. If you are experiencing any of the above, please reach out via email. I would love to provide you with support for your journey of self discovery.
