Mr Keshav Pillai

I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and educator who specialises in facilitating short and long-term therapy using a ‘Process-Oriented Psychology’ and Art Therapy approach. In my approach present-day concerns are not viewed as disorders to be eliminated but as chances to gain awareness of what is required for enhanced wisdom, happiness, and personal progress. For this reason, it is much more important to understand them and constructively use them, rather than to judge or categorise them as bad or strange. As a certified art therapist, I combine psychological, spiritual, and artistic theories with clinical procedures to facilitate therapeutic change. The artwork can be used as a springboard for reawakening memories and telling stories that may reveal messages and beliefs from the unconscious mind. A visual and symbolic expression takes one on a journey of self-discovery that can help eliminate emotional roadblocks and learn how to communicate with oneself and others.
