I find myself in the professional space of counselling through completing a Bachelor of Social and Community Welfare and followed that up some years later with a Graduate Diploma of Counselling both through Monash University, as well as several short courses relating to counselling and mental health.
I have experience working in non-government funded agencies. The most rewarding being a counsellor for a service in the Latrobe Valley with victim/survivors of trauma, I spent 7 years in this space. My most recent counseling experience is working with Adolescents and their families as a school counsellor at a local high school for the past 10 years.
I use many modalities in my work and have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and I am currently exploring work in grief and loss. I find the work of counselling and therapeutic conversation a privilege. Whilst creating a safe, confidential and reflective space to discuss life’s ups and downs are high priority to me.
