Aliye Akarsu-Atakan is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience working in psychiatric, general medical and private practice settings. She works primarily with adults and adolescents (16+), using Cognitive Behavioural and Schema Therapy frameworks. Aliye’s goal is to teach skills and strategies which empower clients to independently manage their life in the long term. Aliye aims to assess, diagnose and treat each of her clients by employing techniques that are tailored to the unique presentation of each individual. She treats clients with a diverse range of acute and chronic psychological conditions and problems, some of which include: anxiety disorders (GAD, PTSD, OCD, phobias), depression, trauma, pain management, relationship problems and sexual disorders. Aliye also has qualifications in clinical hypnosis that she utilises with various problem areas. She is regarded as an ethical, compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive therapist. She is results oriented, enthusiastic, and creative with good analytical skills. She is able to relate well to people with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Aliye is a bilingual Turkish speaker with additional resources designed for the Turkish community.
