Gaye is a warm, down-to-earth and experienced Registered Psychologist who works with adults. She brings a diverse background to her work, including a long career in government emergency services as a first responder and investigator, as well as experience working as a psychologist within a general practice setting.
Gaye has particular interests in trauma, supporting victims of crime, the experiences of first responders, workplace difficulties, health behaviour change, anxiety and pain. She also has a unique interest in twin and sibling relationships and a passion for the outdoors and nature psychology.
Gaye may be a good fit for you if...
You're looking for a psychologist who is down-to-earth, calm and genuinely interested in understanding the whole person rather than simply focusing on a diagnosis or a set of symptoms.
You may be trying to make sense of difficult or traumatic experiences, struggling with anxiety, dealing with challenges at work, wanting to make changes to your health or behaviour, or finding that experiences from the past continue to affect you in the present.
Gaye may be a particularly good fit for first responders or people who have experienced crime or trauma and would value working with someone whose understanding is shaped not only by psychology, but by many years working within emergency services, investigation, child protection and domestic abuse.
Gaye's Approach
As Gaye puts it, "I'll walk side by side with you to make sense of it all. Together we'll explore how the pieces in your puzzle fit together."
Her approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in curiosity, deep listening and empathy. Sessions are grounded in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while keeping the person and what they find most helpful central.
A Little About Gaye
After some time away from psychology following a sports accident, Gaye has returned to practice. These days, you'll find her permanently seated and wheeling around Willow Tree. Her love of the outdoors and nature remains, and she considers it a privilege to hear the stories and experiences people choose to share with her.
