Dr Nicola Flood

Psychologist

Nicola is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA and has experience working with people aged 13-years-old and above in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings both in the public and private sectors. Nicola is a warm, compassionate, and dedicated clinician who uses a person-centred approach in which treatment is collaboratively tailored to the individual. Nicola has also had extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and as such, uses a trauma-informed approach to create a supportive, non-judgemental, and safe environment. Nicola has been trained in and implemented a variety of evidence-based psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), schema therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), interpersonal therapy, and motivational interviewing. Nicola is also an LGBTQIA+ affirmative clinician who has experience supporting individuals to explore their sexuality and gender identity, including assisting with the gender transition process. Nicola approaches her work with energy and enthusiasm, and her down to earth nature enables her to work well with people from all walks of life. Nicola is available to see individuals aged 13 years and above.
