Sometimes life brings us to a point where we need more than good advice - we need someone to truly sit with us in it. If you're here, you've already taken a meaningful step.
Fiona is an experienced counsellor whose warmth, depth of experience, and genuine care create a space where clients feel safe enough to do real work. She works collaboratively, building a relationship where you are heard and valued - not managed or directed. Her approach holds space for your own capacity to heal, while walking alongside you as that process unfolds.
Over more than 16 years, Fiona has worked across a remarkable range of settings. She has mentored young people, sat with the dying in palliative and aged care, and supported people in the raw early days of addiction recovery. She worked with the BlueKnot Foundation - Australia's National Centre of Excellence in Complex Trauma - providing support to sexual abuse survivors who courageously shared their stories with the Royal Commission. She has granted wishes for terminally ill children and provided crisis support with Lifeline. This breadth of experience means she brings both skill and genuine humanity to even the most difficult presentations.
In private practice, Fiona works with individuals across a wide range of challenges - grief and loss, addiction, health crises, relationship difficulties, and the aftermath of trauma. She has a particular passion for supporting women navigating health and fertility challenges. She understands the complex dynamics of step and blended families, and holds a clear, informed understanding of coercive control and domestic and family abuse.
Working from a trauma-informed foundation, Fiona draws on a range of counselling and psychotherapy modalities, tailoring her approach to each client. She believes the relationship itself is therapeutic - and that when you bring both heart and mind to the work, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
