Farida takes a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to therapy, with a strong focus on building a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationships. She aims to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood and comfortable being themselves. She works collaboratively with each client, recognising that therapy should be tailored to their individual needs, goals and values.
Drawing on a strengths-based, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed perspective, Farida supports clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognise their strengths, build practical coping skills, develop self-compassion, and feel more empowered in navigating challenges. She has lived experience of neurodiversity which informs her understanding and approach when working with neurodivergent clients.
Farida primarily draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies where appropriate. She is flexible in her approach and welcomes feedback throughout therapy, recognising that what is helpful can differ from person to person. She is committed to ongoing professional development and continuing to expand her therapeutic skills and knowledge to best support the clients she works with.
Farida also has experience providing ADHD and cognitive assessments, and enjoys integrating assessment findings to develop a broader understanding of each client’s strengths, needs and goals.
