Lisa Flowers

Psychologist

Lisa has more than 20 years experience working with children and adolescents across Brisbane and Ipswich. She has worked as a Guidance Officer in primary, secondary, and special schools, and at Early Childhood Developmental Programs (ECDP). She has also worked in the roles of Teacher, Behaviour Support Teacher, Guidance Officer (Intensive Behaviour Support), in both primary and secondary schools. Lisa is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA), is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi), and is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also endorsed as a provider of psychological services through Medicare, and provides psychological services to NDIS and ECIA recipients. Lisa is committed to building a person-centred therapeutic relationship, where clients feel safe and their strengths are valued. Her approaches are individualised for each client, and can include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT), Positive Psychology, emotion coaching, and mindfulness strategies. Her professional interests include anxiety, trauma, self-regulation, eating disorders, and learning disabilities. Lisa conducts intelligence assessments, adaptive functioning assessments, and achievement assessments, for children and adolescents. She has particular interests in diagnosing Specific Learning Disorders, and Intellectual Disability. Lisa is able to conduct school observations, attend school meetings, liaise with stakeholders, and provide written reports, on request. Mr Peter Marcon

Psychologist – Assoc MAPS Postgrad. Dip. Psych, BSc (Psych), B.Ed, Dip. Teach (Primary) Peter has many years’ experience supporting children, adolescents and families across Brisbane and rural Queensland. Before practicing Psychology, Peter’s roles included Primary Teacher, Teaching Principal, Behaviour Support Teacher, Special Education Teacher and Developmental Guidance Officer. Peter is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA), is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Peter is an endorsed provider of psychological services through Medicare, and provides psychological services to NDIS recipients. Peter is passionate about helping children and families to develop resilience by learning to cope with and manage life challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bullying, grief, impulse control, school issues, life transitions, goal setting, and family change. His approach to intervention is tailored to the individual and is strengths based. Peter utilises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Method of Levels and Mindfulness techniques, depending on client age, needs and goals. When working with younger children, Peter uses play-based approaches to ensure a positive rapport is established and meaningful engagement is maintained. Children have fun as part of therapy. Peter has a love of sports, music, health and fitness, the beach, and food from around the globe.
