I have been an optometrist for over 25 years, and have completed postgraduate studies in ocular medicines, as well as further training in children’s visual function. My special interests include the early detection of eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. I was a member of the Optometry Board of Australia for 9 years. In 2014 I felt privileged to receive an Order of Australia Medal for my contributions to the optometry profession. I am a Fitzroy local who combines working at Dresden with teaching in the optometry program at Deakin University.
