Dr Zhiwen Gao Psychologist

Zhiwen completed her Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Deakin University, Australia), Masters and PhD majoring in Psychology (Monash University, Australia). She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Zhiwen is experienced in evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Short Term Dynamic Interpersonal Psychotherapy (STDIP). She has authored multiple articles and book in both English and Mandarin. Zhiwen is experienced working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults including seniors. She has extensive experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients such as overseas student and new immigrants. Zhiwen has keen interest in working with people experiencing adjustment issues in phases and situations in life, and seeking support for Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar, Depression, Mood, OCD, Phobia, Personality, Trauma (PTSD), Lifestyle and Stress management. She has worked in a range of settings, including school, public mental-health, and private practice.
