Overview

Congratulations for standing up and asking for help. What a great step to take! I am here to help you learn how to help yourself. Maybe you are under stress, or experiencing depression or anxiety, relationship problems or social withdrawal. Perhaps you suffer from insomnia or want to change your relationship with food, or you are in a life transition stage and having difficulty adjusting. You might have a disability or chronic health condition, or you simply might have not been yourself lately and would like to change that. I can support you and help you take charge of your life. I have a personalised care approach to therapy, meaning I believe each person is unique and that no single treatment works for everyone. I would work with you in a way that suits your desires, needs and abilities: a tailored care, support and treatment approach, based on compassion, dignity and respect for you, the live you have lived so far, and the life you plan to live from this moment on. Sara has completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s Degree in General Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Education Sciences. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Sara is trained in a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy and mindfulness. Sara has a background in providing counselling to people with disabilities, and has done extensive research on the link between disability, social stigma and mental health. She has engaged in therapy related to people with a range of psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, phobia, disordered eating, trauma and relationship issues. Sara has also provided therapy to people with Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, OCD and Social Anxiety Disorder.
