Dr Paboda Ratnayake Mudiyanselage is a general psychiatrist caring for adults navigating challenges with their mental health. Dr Paboda completed a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2012 at the University of New South Wales in 2012. She worked in rural New South Wales as an intern and resident medical officer until commencing psychiatric training in Western Sydney in 2015. During this time she has had the opportunity to work in both public and private hospitals, early intervention youth services, anxiety clinic, perinatal services and with veterans. She has achieved a Masters in Psychiatric Medicine from the Health and Training Institute in 2018. During her training, she developed a passion for getting to know her patients as a whole including understanding their interests, connections and unique personality so that mental wellbeing becomes just one aspect of a satisfying life. Dr Paboda understands the need to balance work, recreation and life experience. During time away from training, she has had the opportunity to gain experience in regional Queensland and New South Wales in varied settings including homeless health, child psychiatry, mental health rehabilitation and acute care. Most recently, she had been living and working in Orange NSW where she achieved her Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in mid-2023. Dr Paboda has moved to Queensland for the warmer weather and family connections. She has a special interest in neurodiversity and a belief that we are stronger as a society when our differences are embraced and nurtured. When not at work, Dr Paboda spends her time with her 2 dogs and cat, enjoying museums and art exhibitions, gardening, travelling to new destinations and deep diving for knowledge. "Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." Maya Angelou
