Dr Millie Holmes Psychologist

Millie has Doctoral level training in Clinical psychology and has over 10 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has worked across child and adolescent outpatient and inpatient settings in the public and private mental health sectors as well as in in the education system. She has held a range of consultation roles including group therapy, diagnostic assessment and treatment roles for a wide range of psychological issues. In her treatment she draws on a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Millie works across all age groups and sees individuals with varying mental health concerns such as mood and anxiety disorders, social and interpersonal difficulties, adjustment, grief and loss, self-harm behaviours and trauma. She also assists individuals experiencing difficulties with work and life stress, confidence or assertiveness, body image, parenting, sleep and general stress management. Millie cares a lot about young people and is committed to finding out who they are and what matters to them. She tailors her approach to meet the needs of the individual, takes the time to understand their challenges, and collaborates with them. Millie works with young people and their parents to arrive at a shared understanding of each other, identifying strengths and enhancing connections. Millie is compassionate, warm, considered and genuine in her relationships with her clients. She makes an effort to have her clients feel understood and respected so that they feel confident to create meaning and purpose in their lives. Millie is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Millie is registered with Medicare to provide services under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.
