I am passionate about providing affordable and accessible psychological therapy. My approach to therapy is mainly based on a model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on learning to let go of unhelpful thoughts, being present with difficult emotions and connecting to your values, the things that really matter to you. I self identify as a gay man and enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community.
I am a clinical psychologist, registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. I completed my undergraduate studies at the London School of Economics and went on to complete a postgraduate Diploma in Psychology at London Guildhall University, followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (2003). My post-doctoral training has included skills in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and training in professional supervision.
I have worked in sexual health services in London, community mental health services in Auckland and as a forensic psychologist in Sydney. This has given me experience in working with a wide variety of emotional and psychological difficulties including: anxiety disorders, depression, addictions, trauma, borderline personality disorder, relationships, male sexual problems and sexuality.
