Overview

Dr. Squirrell is a Clinical Psychologist providing specialist clinical psychology services. He has a warm professional approach to therapy which is both respectful and challenging. Dr Squirrell is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, Drug and Alcohol counselling, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Prior to moving into private practice, Dr. Squirrell worked in the public and private sector gaining experience in adult psychiatry, drug and alcohol, occupational rehabilitation, and forensic environments such as prisons. He is an experienced group therapy facilitator and works casually as an academic. Dr. Squirrell has a research interest in online sexual activity and his doctoral thesis investigated the findings from his online study of 1325 users of Internet pornography. Dr. Squirrell presented his research findings at the 43rd, 44th & 45th Annual Conference of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) in 2008 and 2009, 2010 and in 2012 at the European Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) conference in Geneva. His research continues to receive regular local and international media interest (see Media and Publications tab).
